“As the chair of the Digital Media Capture Committee for the Association for Computing Machinery, I was charged with finding a group to work with to prototype a system for capturing the lectures and presentations given at ACM’s many conferences. We looked at many systems and many approaches and settled on the system by Klewel/IDIAP because of the unique capabilities it offers in terms of capturing not only the speaker, but also the slides — including any video or animation on those slides. This is unique amongst all of the approaches currently being offered, and is very important for an association such as ACM where our “slides” might include live demonstrations of software or computing systems which are critical to the presentation. Our collaboration with Klewel/IDIAP has been excellent — our suggestions have been carefully considered and have often been implemented in the course of normal software upgrades. We are extremely excited about this technology and the directions Klewel/IDIAP is making in commercializing it.”
